by 12 Steps Guide

Understanding your thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns leading up to a relapse is essential in the prevention of future relapses. If you have experienced one or more relapses after a period of recovery answer these questions. Be sure to review the answers with your sponsor.

1. Write about your relapse(s) in chronological order focusing on the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors you experienced leading up to and during your relapse.

2. Look up the dictionary definitions for the following words:

a. Rationalization

b. Justification

3. Write a definition in your own words describing your understanding of:

c. Rationalization

d. Justification

4. Write down your own definition or synonym to describe powerlessness.
